Ceramic membrane filtration is a fluid separation process in the form of "cross-flow filtration". Under pressure, the feed solution flows inside of the tube or outside of the tube membrane. Small molecules (or liquid) penetrate the membrane while macromolecules (or solid particles and liquid droplets) will be retained by the membrane. The purpose of clarification and separation is achieved by choosing membranes of different apertures depending on the viscosity of materials and suspended matter content. The filtration precision of Starmem ceramic membrane covers microfiltration and ultrafiltration. The filtration pore size of micro-filtration membrane ranges from 0.05μm to 1.4μm, whist the filtration accuracy of ultrafiltration membrane ranges between 10KDa-50KDa.
Starmem ceramic membrane technology is mainly used in material separation, purification, sterilization, filtration, clarification, edulcoration and concentration. They include vegetable protein emulsion purification; sterile filtration of beer and clarification of wine, rice wine and liquor; clarification, filtration and sterilization of juices; secondary filter and purification of chemical solution; filtration and clarification of Chinese patent medicines, filtration and clarification of biological fermentation products; recycling of high-value products in waste fluid, etc.
